I’m thinking of opening a Cine Society in our college. Movie lovers are strewn all over…and it’s not difficult to gauge the love among my fellow batch-mates. Week ends find people running about with pen-drives in search of good movies. So why not save them from such pain? The Cine Society can take up the job of screening movies in quality and quantity, diverse in language, culture and taste. To add a creative edge to it, short movies made by students can also be screened. Topics and techniques can be varied and I’m hoping many new ideas will eventually come up. And as for a grand event, we can keep a Cine Fest during our fest month which is February. This’ll also make it easy for us to participate in movie-making competitions organised by other colleges and institutions. Campus is all about the activity buzz and college life is all about enjoyment. We watch so many coming-of-age films like Jane tu ya Jane na and Wake Up Sid…this can be a ground to turn reel life into real life or real life into reel life….what say?
